Capitalism and Islam
Holy Quran does not lay down any political or economic system but prescribes broad moral principles for developing or adopting that. The fact is that during the glorious period of Islamic history, the economic system followed by Muslims was capitalistic. ..Neither economic thinking nor historical experience suggest that any other social system could be as beneficial to the masses as capitalism, provided laws are enacted and enforced and ethical standards followed to ensure fair trading practices to protect the interests of consumers as well as the labor and entrepreneurs... |

An Overview of the Science of
Hadith, Sunnah and Evolution of Sharia' (Parts 1 to 7)
...The four Sunni schools of thought, Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i and Hanbali, are in principle the same but variations exist in interpretation
...Hadiths have been classified according to the degree of reliability and include those classified as weak....In the early days of Islam hypocrites
mischievously narrated many fake hadiths....Shia also were divided in different Sub-sects such as Zaidites, Fatimides, Ismailians, the Twelveers, the Karmatians and the Brethren of Purity in different regions due to local influence such as the one in Persia and the other in Egypt..
in many Hadith sayings were attributed in the words of narrators and not the exact words of the Holy Prophet (SWS) and narrators gave account interpreting the action or saying according to their own thinking. Like Holy Quran the hadiths are not considered infallible and the practices adopted by different Imams show variations....Bigotry and Dogmatism paves the way for Division of Ummah
Evolution of Sharia’h and Differences of Opinions --Justice to Everyone without Exception
Not all Hadiths can be given the force of generalized law or a mandatory practice for all times to
come. The same thing applies to different fatwas and laws of
sharia'h. ....The difference of opinion that exist can best be solved by Ijma and opening the gates of Ijtihad. And the constituition of Pakistan provides that our laws cannot be inconsistent with the principles of Holy Quran and
Sunnah. |

Jihad Against Poverty and Ignorance
For ages our rulers and political leaders have been talking about elimination of poverty. There has been fallacious thinking among some of them that merely by Zakat and fair distribution of the national resources, poverty can be eliminated. They do not appear to know that our National Budget happens to be much smaller than hundreds of multinational companies!...Poverty is an economic condition in which people lack sufficient income to obtain the minimal levels of health care, food, housing, clothing, and education generally recognized as necessary to ensure an adequate standard of living. Further, accessibility to clean water, means of transport and communications etc. make the difference...
In this article 17 important areas have been identified where the Federal Government of Pakistan must utilize not only foreign aid but also its own resources in inculcating the spirit of Jihad against poverty and ignorance and coordinate efforts of the nation in its
quest for modern and progressive outlook and prosperity. |

6. The Excellence of Friday
A Global Islamic Calendar based on astronomical calculations for appearance of crescent in Mecca is the best way to standardize Islamic dating procedures. Visibility of moon on earth by naked eye is becoming more and more unpredictable due to global warming and pollution of atmosphere due to industrialization and space exploration...Holy Prophet (sws) laid great emphasis on unity of Ummah. It is simply illogical to believe that he wanted that different months of Islamic calendar begin and end in different cities and countries on different weekdays with a gap of one to three days and/or having a month of 29 days in one country and the same month same year having 30 days in another!
Consumer Protection in Pakistan - Still a Dream
...International Aid Agencies have been emphasizing upon the need for consumer laws sinece the last 35 years. But little interest was taken by the Government but few NGOs sprang up in 1980s in order to share international help in setting up consumer protection bodies and to attend International seminars and workshops. But they have met little
success in convincing the Governments in the center as well as provinces to play their role. However, Consumer Protection laws were passed in Islamabad and Baluchistan but have not been
efficacious...

Secularism and Islam:
Like many other Islamic States, the government of Islamic Republic of Pakistan is a secular government. Its legislators, bureaucrats or the ministers do not have to be a qualified Aalim (scholar of Islam) but now they must have the bachelor's degree in liberal arts or science or mathematics. Many of Pakistani laws do not conform to Sharia that is silent on many aspects of modern life and there is no standardized version of Shariah acceptable to different sects of Muslims.
Socialism, Human Nature and Islam
Socialism and communism as economic systems are against the human nature and that is why they collapsed in Soviet Union and Europe. China has now adopted a realistic attitude towards the capitalistic countries in its trade and social contacts.
