ANSWERS TO THE QUIZ.
Answers will be visible after you click the button below.

1. Intentional

2. Titan is one of the moons of the planet Saturn. It is the
second largest satellite in the solar system.

3. One way is to try different numbers.  Anther way is to make a
graph of assumed numbers and the calculated results to see when they
are equal. Or Find x such that Square root(2x+3)=x
2x+3=x^2
(x-1)^2=4
x-1=2
x=3 (answer)

4. It is simpler to think of the odds of not having a match.  After 8
socks the odds of not having a match are:
(40/40)*(38/39)*(36/38)*(34/37)*(32/36)*(30/35)*(28/34)*(26/33)
=0.4193 This expression is made by multiplying the odds of not having a
match for each try.  The last term is 26/33.  This is the odds using
what is left over after the seventh draw.  After the seventh draw there are
13 pairs in the drawer and 7 single socks.  If a single sock is drawn,
there will be a match with another sock that has already been drawn.
So the odds of not having a match after the eighth draw is 26/33.
After 8 socks are removed, the odds of having a match are
1-0.4193= 0.5807 or 58.07%
