Shortcuts for Surfing.
(Moderator's Note: Most people are so accustomed to use the mouse that they ignore the utility of short cuts on key board. If you remember these short cuts your work or surfing becomes very fast and easy.)

All the shortcuts listed below will work with Internet Explorer, and many will work with other applications as well, both online and off:

Go to the next page (online) - Alt + Right Arrow
Go to previous page (online) - Alt + Left Arrow

Move forward between frames - Ctrl + Tab
Move backward between frames - Shift + Ctrl + Tab

Go to end of page or document - End
Go to beginning of page or document - Home

Refresh current page - F5
Stop downloading a page - Esc

Go to new location - Ctrl + O
Open a new window - Ctrl + N

And my personal favorites:

Copy highlighted text - Ctrl + C
Paste text - Ctrl + V

Mouse

If your mouse is starting to act erratically, the odds are it is just dirty.  Operating it on a pad will pick up dust and lint, and over time it will accumulate on the rollers.

Get yourself a clean cloth and some spirit, take off the bottom plate on the mouse, and give the rollers a good cleaning - you will be happy you did.  Do this once a month or so, and your mouse will perform like new.

(These two tips apply to Windows 98 and Windows Me)

1. CHECK THE TRASH CAN.

Retrieving deleted files from the Recycle Bin is easy. Just click the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop to open the Recycle Bin folder window. Right-click the item that you want to restore and then click Restore. The file goes back to its original location. If the folder that it was stored in had been deleted, it is restored also.

2. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

Keyboard command shortcuts are a good way to impress people
and make friends. To perform these shortcuts, hold down the first key and then press the second key:

Alt+Tab toggles from one open application to another open window.

Ctrl+Esc brings up the Start menu.

Alt+F4 closes the application that is open.

Ctrl+Alt+Delete brings up the Close dialog box. You can choose to end a task, reboot, or shut down. (Hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys and then press Delete.)
