Quotable Quotes
Health
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being,
and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
_Constitution. The World Health Organization.

A sound mind in a sound body, is a short, but full description of a
happy state in this World: he that has these two, has little more to
wish for; and he that wants either  of them, will be little the better
for anything else.
_John Locke (1632-1704), English philosopher.

He had had much experience of physicians, and said, "the only way
to keep your health is to eat what you don't want, drink what you
don't like, and do what you'd druther not."
Mark Twain (1835-1910), U.S. author. Following the Equator,

Measure your health by your sympathy with morning and spring. If
there is no response  in you to the awakening of nature-if the
prospect of an early morning walk does not  banish sleep, if the
warble of the first bluebird does not thrill you-know that the
morning  and spring of your life are past. Thus may you feel your pulse.
_Henry David Thoreau (1817-62), U.S. philosopher, author, naturalist.

The preservation of health is a duty. Few seem conscious that there
is such a thing as  physical morality.
_Herbert Spencer (1820-1903), English philosopher.).

Of all the anti-social vested interests the worst is the vested
interest in ill-health.
_George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950), Anglo-Irish playwright and critic.

People who don't know how to keep themselves healthy ought to have
the decency to get themselves buried, and not waste time about it.
_Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906), Norwegian dramatist.

Two boys were arguing when the teacher entered the room. The teacher asked, "Why are you arguing?"
One boy answered, "We found a ten dollor bill and decided to give it to whoever tells the biggest lie."
"You should be ashamed of yourselves," said the teacher, "When I was your age I didn't even know what a lie was."

The boys gave the ten dollars to the teacher.

Teacher: Why are you late?
Student: There was a man who lost a hundred dollar bill.
Teacher: That's nice. Were you helping him look for it?
Student: No. I was standing on it.

Once there were three turtles. One day they decided to go on a picnic. When they got there, they realized they had forgotten the soda. The youngest turtle said he would go home and get it if they wouldn't eat the sandwiches until he got back.

A week went by, then a month, finally a year, when the two turtles said,"oh come on, let's eat the sandwiches." Suddenly the little turtle popped up from behind a rock and said,  "If you do, I won't go!"
